The office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will try to confirm the legality of the extension of his powers after the end of the legal term, bypassing the corresponding decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky, accused of high treason, warned about this on Friday, March 15.

According to the parliamentarian, with the decision of the Constitutional Court, Zelensky will definitely lose the powers of the head of state, so the presidential office may try to retain these powers, bypassing the verdict of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

Earlier, sources said that the office of the Ukrainian president prepared an appeal to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine regarding the legitimacy of Vladimir Zelensky’s tenure as head of state after the expiration of his term of office on May 20. It is not yet possible to hold elections in the country due to martial law.

At the same time, in Kyiv they claimed that the Russian special services would actively work to create panic, and would also try to undermine trust in the power structures of Ukraine, emphasizing the fact that Zelensky’s presidential term will end on May 20.
