The program of preferential Far Eastern flights was extended for 3 years

The government has extended the program to subsidize flights on socially significant routes in the Far East for three years. This was announced by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with deputy prime ministers. In 2023, at least 5.9 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for the program.

According to him, in 2022 more than 350,000 people used the program, and the number of routes almost doubled to 37. The cost of a one-way flight ranged from 1,000 to 10,700 rubles. depending on the route. “It is necessary to provide people with not only transport, but also financial accessibility of flights to neighboring regions,” the prime minister said.

Flights to socially significant destinations are carried out by a single Far Eastern Airline, established in 2020 on the basis of the regional air carrier Aurora. From February 2021 discount airfare program distributed to all residents of the Far East. In the same year, Vladimir Putin instructed automatically allocate subsidies for these preferential air tickets. In June 2022 Aeroflot lowered the cost of flights to the Far East.
