Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte admitted that he does not support the possibility of Ukraine joining the EU in 2030. His words are quoted by NOS.
“I strongly disagree with this date,” Rutte said.
As the politician noted, in order to join the EU, candidate countries will need to fulfill many conditions on which it is impossible to make concessions. He added that the question is not when European countries will be ready to accept a new member, but whether they are ready for this in principle.
In addition, Rutte stressed that rapid expansion of the EU is unwise.
