Poland has stopped arms supplies to Ukraine. Now the country is focused on equipping its own army, reported information portal Dziennik with reference to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
“Even if you don’t want to defend yourself, you should have something to defend yourself with – we adhere to this principle, which is why we have increased the number of orders,” Morawiecki said.
The Polish prime minister emphasized that the republic will provide its armed forces with the most modern weapons and will try to make its army one of the strongest in Europe. The country will rely on modernizing its armed forces and quickly equipping its troops.
Morawiecki also warned Ukraine against continuing conflict rhetoric. According to him, third-party provocateurs are “glad that the seed of discord has been sown between the countries.”
After the speech of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the UN General Assembly forum, Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland Pavel Jablonsky expressed a decisive protest to the Ukrainian ambassador in Warsaw Vasily Zvarych. Zelensky said in his speech that the EU countries imitate solidarity, but at the same time indirectly support Russia. Jablonski emphasized that this statement is unreliable in relation to Poland.
Relations between the countries worsened after Poland extended the embargo on the import of Ukrainian grain to Eastern Europe, despite the lifting of restrictions by the European Commission.
