Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan intends to hold telephone conversations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin this week to discuss the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the crisis in Ukraine. This is reported by a diplomatic source.
Earlier, Erdogan noted that he was going to discuss with Putin the results of his consultations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and UN Secretary General António Guterres in Lviv and ask the Russian head of state to take specific measures aimed at resolving the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
“Yes, such talks are expected this week,” the source said.
According to him, the topics were previously outlined by the Turkish leader. He clarified that Turkey continues to play its “honest mediating role in this conflict”, acting as the only country that “has won the trust of both sides.”
