Funding for the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine is fully secured thanks to the contribution of Norway. This was reported by Czech TV with reference to a statement by President Petr Pavel.

Norway has allocated approximately NOK 1.6 billion (approximately $153 million) to the Czech Republic’s initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine from third countries.

Pavel confirmed that after Norway’s contribution, funding for the initiative has been secured. He noted that 18 countries are participating in the purchase of 800 thousand units of artillery ammunition. Pavel also said that ammunition will be delivered to Ukraine in the coming weeks.

The politician refused to name the amounts of contributions from individual states, explaining that this would be unfair. He confirmed that Norway had contributed the required amount.

“Now everything will depend on the skill of our companies and the Ministry of Defense to speed up the whole process,” he added.
