The President of Palestine declared the right of the country’s citizens to self-defense

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held an emergency meeting during which he stated that the country’s citizens have the right to self-defense. About it writes Palestinian agency WAFA.

The President, as noted, gave instructions to ensure the protection of people, “emphasizing the right of the Palestinian people to defend themselves against the terrorism of settlers and occupying forces.” He also ordered that everything needed be provided to combat crimes “committed by Israeli occupation gangs and settler gangs.”

The agency also reported that a young Palestinian was wounded by Israeli fire. This happened during clashes with Israeli occupation forces at the northern entrance to the city of Qalqilya.

The attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on southern Israel began on the morning of October 7. The leader of the military wing, Mohammed al-Deif, announced the start of a “military operation” against Israel called “Al-Aqsa Flood” at around 9:30 am, accusing the Israeli side of occupying and repeatedly invading the Al-Aqsa Mosque. According to him, more than 5,000 unguided rockets and shells have already been fired at Israeli positions.
