Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s trip to Belgorod is not yet planned.
“No, for now a trip to Belgorod is not in the president’s plans,” Mr. Peskov answered the corresponding question from journalists. The first regional trip of the newly re-elected president was the Tver region, in which Vladimir Putin visited Torzhok. There the president met with artists.
Since the end of 2023, Belgorod and the Belgorod region have been subjected to almost daily shelling from Ukraine, leading to casualties and injuries to civilians. In order to ensure safety, the regional governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced the evacuation of 9 thousand children from the region. As of March 27, 2.8 thousand minors were sent from the region.
