Vladimir Putin, during the final press conference combined with the direct line, announced that over a trillion rubles have been budgeted for the development of new regions of Russia. And he appreciated the reciprocal contribution of new regions.
According to Putin, the new territories contributed 170 billion rubles in taxes to the federal budget. Economist Denis Denisov told MK what capacities made this possible.
According to Denis Denisov, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the potential of new territories is enormous. “The news about taxes is certainly positive,” he said. – Especially against the backdrop of the fact that many citizens were worried about whether the new regions would become a kind of ballast. But the statistics cited by the president indicate the opposite. It means that the capacities and production facilities located in these regions, as well as self-employed citizens and legal entities, are included in the general economic process in Russia, they work and benefit our country.”
— How would you assess the benefits that new territories bring to the country?
— The economic potential of these regions is very significant. Coal industry, nuclear energy, mechanical engineering, agriculture, chemical industry. All this is profitable, can and should bring dividends and money, including to the budget of the Russian Federation. The sooner the conflict situation is normalized, the sooner its full potential can be realized.
— Which of the new regions can be considered the most profitable in economic terms?
– You need to focus primarily on statistics. If we recall the data that existed under Ukraine, the most powerful region was the Donetsk region – currently the DPR. Next came the Lugansk and Zaporozhye regions. They are all very different in economic structure, and now also in territorial boundaries. The Kherson region is a region with traditional agriculture and in this regard, I think, nothing has changed. Each region has its own specifics and focus, clearly established during the Soviet Union, and at the moment each of these areas is in great demand in the country, especially within the framework of import substitution.
