The photo of the first F-16 aircraft with Ukrainian insignia was not authenticated

Ukrainian media write about the alleged editing of an image of an F-16 aircraft, which previously appeared in Western media and was presented as the first such fighter transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to publications, a photo of the plane and pilot, presented as the Phantom, was originally published in the American media. In the photo, the pilot with his face hidden posed in front of a fighter aircraft, which had tactical insignia of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on it. However, checking the image in a photo editor revealed supposed elements of editing in those places in the photo that related to images of Ukrainian symbols.

The media writes that we are talking about areas of purple color, which may be compression artifacts, indicating that individual parts of the photo originally belonged to a different image.

Ukrainian media note that the fact that the photo with the plane was edited has not yet been proven.
