US Secretary of the Army Christine Warmuth questioned the choice of targets on the part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), in particular regarding Russian oil refineries (ORPs).

Warmuth told Congress that “we would look at the range of goals and how beneficial those goals are.”

The American minister admitted that “from a military point of view, there may be targets on which strikes may have a greater effect than, for example, strikes on energy facilities.”

Earlier, American journalists said that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky angry at US request refrain from carrying out attacks on Russian oil refineries. The Ukrainian politician dismissed the recommendations of the American vice president, doubting that they reflect the position of the entire administration of US President Joe Biden.

Meanwhile, French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournet indirectly supported Ukrainian strikes for objects within Russia. Commenting on the Ukrainian side’s attacks on Russian targets, Sejournet said that Kyiv was acting “within the framework of legitimate defense.”
