The Pentagon announced the transfer of depleted uranium shells to Ukraine

The United States decided to transfer depleted uranium shells for Abrams tanks to Ukraine. They will be part of a new $175 million financial aid package for Ukraine, which announced Pentagon.

At the same time, the transfer of American Abrams tanks to Ukraine has not yet been reported, the United States has only announced these deliveries.

The Pentagon noted that this will be the 46th package of military assistance to Ukraine, delivered from the department’s stocks since August 2021. It will also include ammunition for HIMARS, equipment to support Ukrainian air defense systems, artillery shells of 155 and 105 mm caliber, Javelin anti-tank systems and AT-4 etc.

According to the Pentagon, the United States has provided more than $43 billion in military aid to Kyiv since the beginning of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.

Washington has given Kyiv a new military aid package following US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s September 6 visit to Ukraine. Earlier in the day he declaredthat the US sees “good progress” in the Ukrainian counter-offensive, and added that it is important for Washington that Kiev has everything it needs to carry it out successfully. CNN, citing a State Department source wrotethat during the trip, Blinken may announce financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of more than $1 billion.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on reports of US plans to provide additional military assistance to Kyiv, emphasizedthat this will not affect the course of the special operation. “They are going to continue to support Ukraine in a virtual state of war and wage this war to the last Ukrainian, sparing no money for this,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin before warnedthat Moscow will be forced to respond to the supply of shells with depleted uranium to Ukraine. According to him, this decision demonstrates the willingness of the West to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian, not in words but in deeds.
