The ARM company, which bought Decathlon sporting goods stores in Russia, has filed an application to register the All Do Sport brand, TASS reports citing data from Rospatent. The abbreviation of the registered trademark is identical to the stock ticker of the German sportswear manufacturer Adidas on European markets – ADS. The application is at the stage of formal examination, the agency reports.
Decathlon suspended operations in Russia in March 2022. At the end of July 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reportedthat the chain has found a buyer for all its stores in Russia, the Russian company ARM (owns Mango franchises). It was about the sale of 36 Decathlon facilities located in Russia – 35 stores and a warehouse. On September 11, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Viktor Evtukhov said that the former Decathlon stores will open until the end of the year.
Adidas has suspended store operations in Russia in the spring of 2022. Source “Kommersant” on the retail market in May 2023 saidthat Adidas may transfer the local unit to an alternative foreign investor. This will allow about 100 of the most profitable stores to be relaunched in a new format.
