The number of unemployed in Russia decreased by 25 thousand in two weeks

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova said that the number of registered unemployed in the country decreased by 25 thousand in two weeks, to 612.4 thousand. The level of registered unemployment decreased by 0.8%.
According to Mrs. Golikova, who cites “RIA News”, from September 19 to October 3, the number of idle workers decreased by 4.6 thousand, amounting to 89.8 thousand people. The number of part-time workers or working weeks over the same period decreased by 4.2 thousand, to 114.9 thousand people.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that the state portal “Work in Russia” offers more than 2.4 million vacancies. According to her, this figure exceeds the number of unemployed almost four times.
As reported “b” experts in September, the level of registered unemployment in Russia remains at a record low, but the situation may change in October-December if foreign companies continue to leave Russia. According to Ministry of Economic Development, the unemployment rate at the end of 2022 will be 4.5%, in 2023 – 4.4%. In 2024, it is expected to decline to 4.3%, and in 2025 to 4.1%.
