The number of children killed in Gaza exceeds the number of children killed in the world

The number of children killed in fighting in the Gaza Strip over the past three weeks exceeds the number of children killed in conflicts worldwide since the start of 2019, international charity Save the Children said.
It was previously reported that at least two thousand children have died over the past 17 days in the Gaza Strip, and another 27 in the West Bank. Save the Children’s director in Palestine, Jason Lee, called for an immediate ceasefire, stressing that the situation requires the immediate attention of the global community.
The organization said in a statement: “The number of children killed in just three weeks in the Gaza Strip exceeds the number of children killed in armed conflict worldwide in an entire year since 2019.”
Children make up more than 40% of the 7,703 people killed in the Gaza Strip, according to Save the Children. The organization indicated that the death toll of children could be higher, as another 1,000 children are missing in Gaza and may be trapped under the rubble.
