The Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts has begun selecting nominees for the Nika Award. The long list includes films for 2022 and 2023. The award presentation is planned for this spring; the exact date has not been announced.

According to the rules, members of the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts can choose no more than six candidates in the Best Film nomination, and no more than four in the profession categories.

The Nika cinematic award was established in 1987 on the initiative of director Yuli Gusman. The last time the awards ceremony was held was in 2021. It was not carried out in 2022 and 2023 without explanation.
