The new German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius did not rule out that the supply of Leopard 2 tanks could be approved soon. He stated this in an interview with ZDF.
The head of the department noted that Germany could approve the supply of these tanks to Kyiv both by other countries and send them to Ukraine itself.
At the same time, Pistorius stressed that a solution would be found “very soon”, while an agreement could be announced after the meeting at the Ramstein base on January 20.
On Thursday, January 19, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that Warsaw was ready to send its German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine without the consent of Berlin.
At the same time, the politician stressed that the approval of the authorities in Germany in this matter is “secondary”. Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda promised to transfer the Leopard tank company to Ukraine as part of an international coalition.
