The new head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine phoned the NATO Secretary General

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov held his first telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg after his appointment to this position.
As the Ukrainian politician said on social networks, the parties discussed the progress of implementation of the agreements reached at the Vilnius summit, as well as the work of Kyiv and the North Atlantic Alliance on the interoperability roadmap.
Umerov also told Stoltenberg about the progress of the fighting at the front.
Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that at the NATO summit in Washington, Ukraine will receive an invitation to become a NATO memberalthough the day before he claimed that there could be no talk of Ukraine’s admission to NATO yet, since hostilities continued in the country.
Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy warned that the inclusion of Ukraine in the North Atlantic Alliance will not bring peace to Europe – Russia will regard this as a provocation.
