Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has chosen Hafize Gaye Erkan, formerly of US investment bank Goldman Sachs, to head the central bank. According to the newspaper Aydınlık, the appointed head of the Turkish Central Bank turned out to be a member of the Council on Foreign Relations of the United States (CFR), known as Washington’s “shadow foreign policy office”.
She, according to the publication, previously advised the boards of directors and management of large US banks and insurance companies. In the United States, Erkan is known as the “Great Turkish Woman”.
The US Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is also referred to as the “shadow foreign policy agency” of the US. CFR currently has 5143 members.
