Since February, the Dutch government has issued 91 exemptions from EU sanctions against Russia. One permit can be used by several companies. This is reported RTL Nieuws.
This is the number of permits issued by each ministry:
- The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Resources of the Netherlands has allowed 34 Russian ships to enter their ports since February, carrying, for example, food and aluminum;
- The Ministry of Economy and Climate has issued 25 permits to Dutch companies to cooperate with the former subsidiaries of Gazprom, which were taken over by the German company SEFE Energy (former Gazprom Germany.— “b”). According to the publication, not a single cent from gas contracts goes to Russia;
- The Ministry of Foreign Trade issued 18 permits to 13 organizations for “humanitarian reasons”;
- The Ministry of Finance issued 13 permits for exemption from restrictions on a number of frozen assets and sanctioned goods;
- The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued one authorization for making a payment from Russia for diplomatic purposes.
Despite the permits issued by the Dutch government, most of the EU sanctions against Russia continue to apply in Europe. For example, the volume of ship calls to the EU ports is falling sharply in the third quarter. Russian ships stopped calling at US and UK ports six months ago.
