73% of Russians over the age of 18 say they are ready to help the families of military personnel they do not know and the military personnel themselves participating in a special operation in Ukraine. Such results were shown by a survey of the urban and rural population, conducted on November 14–18 by the Center for Civil Society and Non-Profit Sector Research at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. The sample size is 2050 respondents. HSE experts summarize that the desire to help Russians has grown: in 2020, when help was needed primarily for people who found themselves in self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic, 61% of respondents were ready to provide it.
The HSE studied the awareness of Russians about the We Are Together movement. It was supported by the presidential administration to help citizens during the coronavirus pandemic, and in 2022 the volunteer corps was reoriented to the needs of a special operation: first, volunteers helped refugees, now the families of mobilized people and residents of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye. As the survey showed, 40% of Russians have heard about the We Together movement, and 8% took part in its activities, 59% have not heard of this organization, and the rest found it difficult to answer the question.
