Bulgaria was recognized as the most unfortunate country in the European Union. This is stated in the results of a study by the statistical agency Eurostat. They were published in the Independent newspaper.
Residents of Bulgaria had the lowest score in the life satisfaction rating – 5.6 out of 10 possible. Surprisingly, the Germans are in second place on this list – 6.5 points. Some respondents expressed anxiety about the future and apathy. The Greeks took third place in the anti-rating.
At the same time, Austria, neighboring Germany, was named the happiest country in the EU. They rated quality of life indicators as 8 out of 10. Second place was shared by three countries – Romania, Poland and Finland.
It is interesting that Finland and Romania appeared at different poles of another EU ranking – in terms of duration of work. It turned out that Finns spend the least amount of time at work – a total of 205 days per year with an eight-hour working day. At the same time, Romanians work more than anyone in the European Union and 50 days more than residents of Finland – a total of 255 days.
