The Government of Moscow allocated a grant to NPO Almaz to improve air defense systems (Air Defense). About it reported on the official website of the mayor of the capital.
“The Moscow Government allocated a grant to the Almaz Research and Production Association (NPO) named after Academician A.A. Raspletin on the improvement of air defense systems, taking into account current challenges and threats, ”the message says.
It is specified that the decree on this was signed by the mayor of the city, Sergei Sobyanin, at a meeting of the presidium of the Moscow government. The funds that will be allocated from the budget will be used to improve the detection of low-altitude targets, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
On the morning of July 4, some areas of New Moscow and the Moscow region were attacked by Ukrainian drones. Four UAVs over New Moscow, according to the Ministry of Defense, were destroyed by air defense systems, one was suppressed by means of electronic warfare (EW). As a result of the incident, no one was injured.
This is not the first attack on the Moscow region in recent months. On May 30, drones attacked Moscow and the region, Sobyanin then reported minor damage to buildings. According to the mayor, as a result of the incident, no one was seriously injured, two people sought medical help, which they received on the spot.
