The mobilized will receive preferential employment in the previous position in the event of the expiration of the employment contract

The deputies of the State Duma in the second reading adopted a draft amendment that would establish the preferential right of those mobilized to their position if the employment contract expires during its suspension due to military service. The amendment also guarantees the mobilized another vacant position or work in the absence of a vacancy for the position previously held by him.

As stated in the document, if there is no position for a mobilized person that matches his qualifications, he will be able to apply for a lower position or a less paid job.

In October, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a number of laws on the rights of the mobilized. For the duration of their military service, their employment contracts will be suspended and their jobs saved. They and their family members were also exempted from paying utility bills and were given vacations on consumer and mortgage loans. According to the Central Bank, from September to October, banks provided military personnel and members of their families over 101,500 credit holidays for a total amount of 45.4 billion rubles.

Earlier, “Kommersant” wrote that in November, bank customers began to complain about the “unscrupulous approach” of banks to the provision of credit holidays to the mobilized. Clients of Sberbank, VTB, Tinkoff Bank, Alfa Bank, etc. faced such situations.
