The Ministry of Labor has submitted for public discussion a bill that amends the Labor Code to clarify the procedure for paying overtime. The amendments will make it possible to specify the procedure for paying for overtime, taking into account compensation and incentive payments. About it reported department press office.

At the moment, the first two hours of overtime work are paid at least one and a half times, for the following hours – at least double the amount. At the request of the employee, the increased pay can be compensated for with additional rest time. However, in some cases, the employer, when calculating payment for overtime, does not take into account compensatory and incentive payments, but accrues payments only from the tariff rate. Thus, overtime hours are paid in a smaller amount than hours worked according to the schedule. The amendments are intended to eliminate such situations.

On July 3, the Ministry of Labor proposed from January 1, 2025 to bring the minimum wage (minimum wage) closer to the median salary. The department wants to increase the approved ratio of indicators from 42% to 48%.
