Payouts will remain the same
The Ministry of Labor has decided on the amount of unemployment benefits for 2023. The department has prepared a corresponding draft government decree.
Judging by the text of the document, which is now at the stage of public comment, unemployment benefits show unusual stability. Neither the increase in food prices in stores nor Western sanctions affected the amounts. Compared to this year’s figures, federal benefits will not increase. So, the minimum amount of payment for an unemployed citizen – both young and pre-pensioner – will be 1,500 rubles. “Maximum” also remains unchanged at the level of 12,792 rubles in the first three months of the period of payment of unemployment benefits and 5,000 rubles – in the next three months. The last indexation of benefits for citizens who lost their jobs took place on the eve of 2022. In 2021, with a constant minimum of 1,500 rubles, the maximum payout level was slightly less than the current figures and amounted to 12,130 rubles.
