The Ministry of Labor announced the need for the economy in another 2.5 million workers by 2030

The Russian economy will need an additional 2.5 million workers by 2030, said Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov at an expanded meeting of the board of the department.

“Already, 1.5 million more people are involved in the economy than in 2019. In the next five years, priority areas will need another 1 million workers, and by 2030, according to our estimates, the economy will need an additional 2.5 million employees,” leads words of the minister “Interfax”.

Every year, according to Kotyakov, 1.4 million people graduate from vocational education institutions.

Previously, Vedomosti, citing Rosstat data wrotethat the real disposable income of the population (net of inflation and mandatory payments) increased by 0.1% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2022.

The salaries of citizens show a more noticeable growth – in nominal terms, they increased in February by 13.2% to 65,094 rubles. In real terms, the growth was 2%. In January, wages increased by 12.4% in nominal terms and by 0.6% in real terms. In February, the most profitable work was in the field of oil and gas production (159,547 rubles on average), and the lowest paid was in the production of clothing (28,461 rubles).

The labor force in March 2023, according to Rosstat, amounted to 75.6 million people. The unemployment rate remained at a historic low, as in February this year – 3.5%.

At the end of March, Kotyakov informedthat the youth unemployment rate in Russia has fallen by 2.2% in two years. The minister added that since this year, the Ministry of Labor, together with the Ministry of Education, has been working on a new Internships and Practices service, which will be launched in September 2023 on the Jobs in Russia portal.
