Rosaviatsia issued permission to Georgian Airways for flights between Tbilisi and Moscow

Rosaviatsiya informed, which “based on the principles of reciprocity”, issued a permit to operate flights on the Tbilisi-Moscow-Tbilisi route of Georgian Airways. Now the Georgian airline will be able to fly seven times a week.
Today the Russian airline “Azimuth” performed first flight from Moscow to Tbilisi. Because of this, the Georgian opposition staged protests at the airport. The police arrested six people.
Permission to fly to Georgia received Russian airline Red Wings. From June 2, it will operate Sochi-Tbilisi-Sochi and Moscow-Kutaisi-Moscow flights three times a week: on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Azimuth will operate seven direct flights a week on the Moscow-Tbilisi route.
On May 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin lifted the ban on flights to Georgia for Russian airlines. On May 15, he canceled the visa regime for Georgian citizens. On May 19, an Azimuth aircraft made the first direct flight between Russia and Georgia in four years.
