A batch of T-90M Proryv tanks and upgraded T-72B3M tanks were sent to the Russian Ministry of Defense. About it reported in the Ministry of Industry and Trade. It is specified that Uralvagonzavod (UVZ, part of Rostec) was engaged in the shipment.
The plant is also engaged in the modernization of T-72B tanks to T-72B3M, T80BV tanks to the level of T80BVM, the department added.
In March, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev declaredthat in 2023 the Russian army will receive about 1,500 tanks.
“Most enterprises (I’m talking about this firsthand, but because I drive around them) work in three shifts, work, as they say, from wheels – directly give everything to the troops, produce the most modern Russian types of weapons, and even in a situation when they really try to deprive us of components, cut off oxygen in certain areas,” the deputy chairman noted.
At the same time, the editor of the Military Russia portal, Dmitry Kornev, told Vedomosti that it is unlikely that we are talking about 1,500 new tanks and, most likely, a significant part will consist of modernized Soviet vehicles removed from storage and equipped with new means of communication, protection, etc.
