The Ministry of Industry and Trade allowed the return of well-known imported alcohol to Russian shelves

The new list of parallel imports includes whiskey, liquors, tequilas

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has allowed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to buy more goods that, under the sanctions, were banned from being traded in Russia by the owners of the rights to brands. The list of parallel imports was replenished with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Let us recall that the list of goods in respect of which the requirements for the protection of intellectual rights by individual right holders are not applied was introduced in March by a decision of the Government. It lists goods whose manufacturers left the Russian market.

As it became known to MK, the new list includes whiskey, liqueurs, tequilas of world-famous brands, as well as carbonated and non-carbonated drinks that are popular in our country, but prohibited by copyright holders for import into Russia. It was decided to stimulate parallel imports in order to fill the niches in which the Russian manufacturer cannot yet fully meet the needs of industrial enterprises and ordinary consumers. At the same time, enough wines, cognacs and other alcohol are produced in Russia, so cognac brands do not fall under the exception.

Recall that only those companies that have left the market and stopped importing products or production in Russia can get on the list. Those companies that fulfill contractual obligations and whose products are presented in sufficient quantities on the market are excluded from the list.
