Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov urged not to trust the information stuffing in the media, in particular, if the source is CNN. This is how the Russian diplomat commented on the information of the American TV channel about the allegedly unsuccessful test of the Sarmat missile in Russia, writes TASS.

“You cannot trust everything that appears in the media, especially if the source is CNN, which has completely discredited itself in recent years and is completely put in the service of the interests of certain groups and certain political elites,” the diplomat said.

According to him, the test launch program is not an issue worth commenting on.

“All information that is worthy of public coverage is provided through the channels of the Ministry of Defense. Launch notifications will continue to be provided in accordance with the 1988 agreement,” Ryabkov said.

Previously CNN sources reportedthat Russia allegedly tested the Sarmat missile on February 20, when US President Joe Biden was in Kyiv. According to one of the interlocutors of the publication, Moscow notified Washington in advance of its plans. Another source said the US does not view the tests as a security risk. Sources told CNN that the test ended in failure.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov did not comment on this, stating that “this is the prerogative of the Ministry of Defense.”

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation did not report the launch of the missile. Previously, the agency reported about the successful tests of the Sarmat missile on November 18 last year.

The first launch of the Sarmat rocket was carried out from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region on April 20. It was successful, the design characteristics were confirmed at all stages of the missile’s flight, the RF Ministry of Defense reported.
