The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Federal Air Transport Agency, is solving the problem of a ban on flights of Russian carriers with dual registration through Jordan, transmits press service of the Foreign Ministry with reference to the official representative Maria Zakharova.
“The Federal Air Transport Agency and the Russian Foreign Ministry are making active efforts to resolve this problem. At the same time, we proceed from the fact that Jordan is a state friendly to Russia, and we do not consider the decision made in Amman as politically motivated and directed against the interests of our country,” the diplomat said.
Earlier today it became known that more than 1,000 Russian tourists returned from Egypt. In the near future, it is planned to hold strategic sessions with tour operators to develop a unified response algorithm in such crisis situations.
iFly previously announced a delay in flights to Egypt due to the closure of Jordanian airspace. The authorities of this country require insurance issued in London for flights, but Russian airlines cannot receive it due to sanctions. On December 15, the Federal Air Transport Agency recommended that iFly carry passengers to Egypt on flights of other air carriers.
The airline had to cancel flights to Egypt until December 19. iFly explained that the cancellation of flights is due to flight restrictions and bans on the use of the airspace of Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Eritrea, as well as due to the lack of permission from the Federal Air Transport Agency to operate flights on an alternative route.
