The Government Commission for the Affairs of Compatriots Abroad held a meeting chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. In unfriendly countries, pressure continues on the Russian diaspora, so Russia needs to make efforts to consolidate it on a patriotic basis, protect the interests of the community and counteract attempts to disunite and discredit the Russian world, the minister noted. His words are quoted by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
The commission was attended by the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Evgeny Primakov, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova, the first deputy head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin, representatives of the Presidential Administration and the apparatus of the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as organizations and foundations.
