The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the conditions for the extension of the grain deal

The grain deal will not be extended beyond May 18 unless there is progress on five “systemic” issues. About it declared at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
“No progress on solving 5 “systemic” problems <...> there is no need to talk about the further extension of the “Black Sea Initiative” after May 18,” the message says.

In addition, the Foreign Ministry stressed that the terms of the second part of the grain deal, which concerns the export of Russian fertilizers and grain, are still not being met.
The grain deal was concluded on July 22, 2022 by representatives of Turkey and the UN, on the one hand, and representatives of Russia and Ukraine, on the other. Separate agreements were concluded with Moscow and Kiev: the first was for the export of Ukrainian grain from three ports, including Odessa, Yuzhny and Chernomorsk, and the second was for assistance in the export of Russian grain and fertilizers. Moscow has repeatedly noted that the second part of the deal is not being implemented.
Since then, the deal has been extended several times. The last time it happened was March 14th. Then Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Alexander Grushko announced the extension of the grain deal for 60 days and the confirmation of its package nature. After that, the Russian side repeatedly said that the decision to further extend the deal would depend on the fulfillment of the conditions of the second part. In particular, on the eve of April 12, in the Kremlin called the prospects for a deal extension are “not so good.”
