The Ministry of Finance invited departments to cut approved spending for 2023 by 10%

The Ministry of Finance informed the departments about a 10% reduction in the so-called unprotected budget expenditures for 2023. That the Finance Ministry brought through the Electronic Budget system (one of the key digital tools of the budget process) appropriations for the next year in a cut compared to the law on budget for 2022-2024 volume, Vedomosti was told by a source close to the government. The information was confirmed by another interlocutor, also close to the Cabinet, as well as two sources in industry departments. According to the interlocutors, the Ministry of Finance brought the information to the ministries back in June. But this decision remains in force, said a source close to the government.
