The Ministry of Energy did not support the idea of ​​state regulation of prices for diesel fuel

The Association of Freight Road Transport “Gruzavtotrans” (the organization includes more than 200 companies) sent a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a request to introduce state regulation of prices for diesel fuel. The Ministry of Energy considered that such a measure would lead to a shortage of products, report “News”.

Carriers proposed to fix the price of diesel fuel at a level below 60 rubles. per liter, on which she was a few weeks ago. According to the president of the association, Vladimir Matyagin, the cost of a diesel engine at a number of gas stations in the regions of Central and Southern Russia reached 68–70 rubles in a week. per litre. The letter notes that this may affect the cost of logistics, which will increase the final cost of the goods.

The Ministry of Energy said that state regulation of prices could lead to a shortage of products. They explained the “volatility on the stock exchange” by the restoration of prices for Russian oil products on the world market and the change in the ruble exchange rate. In addition, the ministry noted, in the summer, fuel prices “grow traditionally.” The Ministry of Energy clarified that meetings with market participants are held regularly to stabilize prices.

August 14 became knownthat the Ministry of Energy will consider the introduction of licensing the export of petroleum products as part of the fight against rising fuel prices in the domestic market. Earlier, Interfax wrote, citing sources, that such an order was given by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

Diesel in retail is getting more expensive following the sharp rise in stock prices. Wholesale prices for summer diesel fuel on the SPIMEX Commodity Exchange from March to early July were within the range of 48,000–52,000 rubles/ton, but from mid-July they began to grow. Since the beginning of August, the price of diesel on the stock exchange has updated its historical record several times, exceeding 67,000 rubles per ton.

By data Rosstat, from 15 to 21 August, consumer prices for diesel accelerated growth to 1.3% from 0.7% in the week from 8 to 14 August. At the same time, since the beginning of the year, fuel has risen in price by 2.7%.
