At the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Ministry of Emergency Situations will send humanitarian aid in the amount of 28 tons in two planes to the residents of the Gaza Strip, reported department in its Telegram channel.
“From the Zhukovsky airport near Moscow, Il-76 aircraft of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations will deliver: medicines, hemostatic agents, dressings,” the message says.
The humanitarian cargo will be handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society for further shipment to Gaza. Last time humanitarian aid in the amount of 27 tons, which included food, Russia sent to the sector on October 19. A day earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Tel Aviv would allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza from Egypt, and any attempts to deliver humanitarian aid that would reach Hamas would be suppressed.
The Gaza-based Palestinian group Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7. The Israeli army responded by launching Operation Iron Swords.
