Traffic through the Upper Lars checkpoint on the border of North Ossetia and Georgia has been resumed for cars and buses. About it reported in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

“In connection with the clearing of the roadbed in the territory of Georgia and the possibility of ensuring safe passage, the movement of cars and buses, with the exception of heavy vehicles, is allowed on the section of Vladikavkaz – n.p. Lars – in the direction to leave the Russian Federation from 12:40 on February 3,” the statement said.

The fact that the movement of transport at the border was stopped due to the deterioration of the weather in Georgia, in the Ministry of Emergency Situations for North Ossetia reported the day before, 2 February.

Today, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the main reason for the closure of the checkpoint on the border with Georgia is related to weather conditions and was announced by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. “Well, that’s how it was announced. There should be no reason not to trust. And contact the Ministry of Emergency Situations, they will explain it to you, ”he said, answering a question about the relationship between blocking traffic and possible mobilization measures.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization on September 21, 2022.
