Oleg Kachanov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development, said at a CEC meeting that 35,000 cyberattacks had been made on the infrastructure of remote electronic voting in Russia during the entire election period.
“Despite all the calmness with which all the voting procedures went through, no one managed to carry out a single successful attack during these days. But that doesn’t mean they didn’t exist. There were attacks … their number exceeded 35,000,” said Mr. Kachanov (quoted by TASS).
Public observation headquarters for September 9 only counted 4,000 DDoS attacks on Moscow’s electronic voting system during municipal elections. According to the Moscow Department of Information Technologies, during the September 9 and 10 elections in Moscow, the DEG system was attacked more than 6,000 times.
CEC made public Preliminary results of the election campaign: incumbent governors or acting heads of subjects win by a strong margin, and representatives of United Russia are leading in the elections to regional parliaments.
