The Ministry of Digital Affairs requested clarification from Apple after the removal of VK services

The press service of the Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation issued a message stating that the Ministry of Digital Transformation sent a request to the management of Apple Corporation, in which it asks for clarification of the reasons for the removal of VK holding applications from the AppStore market.
The department clarified that after receiving clarifications, an “action plan” will be developed in connection with the current situation.
“A request has been sent to Apple Inc about the reasons for deleting VK applications and developer accounts, paying special attention to the social significance and scale of use of the Russian company’s services,” the ministry said.
Earlier it was reported that on September 26, the Russian social network “Vkontakte” and other applications of the holding, including the services “Mail Mail ru”, “Cloud Mail ru”, “VK Music”, “VK Clips”, “VK Messenger”, “VK Play” and “VK Admin” have been removed from the market for devices on the iOS AppStore.
