The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the construction of fortifications

Engineering units of the Central Military District are erecting fortifications in the zone of the special operation, which will impede the advance of enemy equipment, reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The defense department has published footage of the construction of barriers.

“Fortifications are capable of effectively impeding the advance of armored vehicles and enemy personnel, forcing him to march in unexplored areas and involving him in advantageous areas of fire impact,” the report says.

In addition, the defense is being equipped with trenches, ditches, as well as hidden fortified firing positions that can withstand artillery strikes. This will allow military personnel to inflict fire damage on the enemy, while remaining safe, the defense department notes.

Military engineers also build explosive and non-explosive barriers – concrete structures that are designed to prevent the advance of enemy armored tracked and wheeled vehicles.

In Crimea, under the control of the authorities, fortification work is being carried out to ensure the safety of the inhabitants of the peninsula, informed former head of the republic Sergey Aksyonov. He stressed that the measures taken today by the Russian military and security forces are sufficient to ensure the security of Crimea.

On October 19, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response was introduced in eight border regions, including Crimea, Sevastopol, Belgorod and Kursk regions. At the same time, Putin announced the introduction of martial law in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The head of state recalled that martial law was introduced in these regions even before joining Russia.
