The Israeli air force carried out strikes on airports in Syria without entering the country’s airspace, reports press service of the Center for the reconciliation of warring parties and control over the movement of refugees in the Syrian Arab Republic.

The TsPVS explained that the strikes were carried out early in the morning with the help of F-15 and F-16 fighters from the Mediterranean Sea at the airports of Damascus and Aleppo.

“As a result of Israeli airstrikes, runways were partially damaged and the functioning of airports was disrupted,” the statement said.

Earlier on October 22, the strike was reported in Syria. Local media reported that a Damascus airport employee was killed in the attack and another person was injured. The impact also caused damage to the runways, “causing them to become unusable.”

Israel regularly attacks Syria, where Russian troops are stationed to help the government of the republic in the fight against terrorists. In particular, on October 12, the Sana agency reported Israeli attacks on the international airports of Damascus and Aleppo.
