The Ministry of Defense reported to Putin on the results of the night battle in the Zaporozhye direction

Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed about the situation in the Zaporozhye direction on the evening of June 7 and about the results of the night battle on the morning of the next day. This was announced by the commander of the grouping of the RF Armed Forces in the Zaporozhye direction, Colonel-General Alexander Romanchuk.

“Last night, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief contacted the commander of the military district, who reported to him in detail the situation in our direction. This morning the Chief of the General Staff [Валерий Герасимов] In the morning I reported to the President on the results of the night battle,” he said (quote according to TASS).

Earlier today, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu declared about a night attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break through the defenses in the Zaporozhye direction. The enemy was detected in time, and a preemptive strike was delivered on him. According to the army general, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were stopped in all four directions and suffered heavy losses in equipment and manpower.

Prior to that, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, chairman of the movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov informed about the “colossal losses” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of the attack. According to him, after an unsuccessful offensive, Ukrainian troops entrenched themselves in the area of ​​​​the village of Rabotino.

The Russian authorities claim that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting offensive operations since June 4. At the same time, Kyiv did not officially announce the start of offensive operations.

On the night of June 5, the Ministry of Defense reported about the large-scale offensive of the Ukrainian army in five sectors of the front in the Yuzhnodonets direction. They noted that the enemy planned to break through the defense “on the most vulnerable, in his opinion, sector of the front,” but did not achieve his objectives.

In the Kremlin declaredthat the counteroffensive does not bring Kyiv the achievement of “set goals”. According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, the offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are “choking”.
