The Ministry of Defense reported the loss of the Armed Forces of Ukraine up to 360 soldiers in the Donetsk direction

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost up to 360 servicemen in the Donetsk direction over the past day, reported The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in its daily summary.

The defense department said that the assault squads continued fighting in the western part of Artemivsk (the Ukrainian name is Bakhmut), and the Airborne Forces, with the support of aviation and artillery, are suppressing attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to transfer reserves there.

“During the day, the enemy’s losses in this direction amounted to 360 Ukrainian servicemen and mercenaries, seven infantry fighting vehicles, eight armored fighting vehicles,” the report says.

In other directions, Russian forces will continue to strike with artillery and aircraft at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, an ammunition depot of the 67th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed in the Kupyansky direction in the Ternovaya area in the Kharkiv region. In addition, the actions of four Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups were stopped in this direction.

In the Krasnolimansky direction, the Russian Armed Forces hit units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Nevskoye, Chervonaya Dibrova in the LPR and Grigorovka in the DPR. In the South-Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions, as a result of attacks on the areas of Ugledar and Pavlovka in the DPR, as well as Novodanilovka and Kamensky in the Zaporozhye region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost more than 120 soldiers.

Formerly Ministry of Defense reported about the attack on April 21 on the weapons depot and the stationing point of foreign mercenaries in Konstantinovka of the DPR, as a result of which 60 militants of the so-called “Georgian Legion” were liquidated.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
