The Ministry of Defense reported fierce fighting in the center of Maryinka

Groups of the Akhmat Special Forces Detachment are fighting fierce battles in the center of Maryinka in the DPR. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in its daily report on the course of the special operation.

“In the Donetsk direction, the most fierce battles are being fought by assault groups of the Akhmat special forces detachment in the central part of Maryinka, as well as units of the 1st Army Corps in the Avdiivka area of ​​the Donetsk People’s Republic,” – says in the message.

In the Kupyansk direction in the area of ​​​​Sinkovka and Timkovka, Kharkiv region, the Russian military stopped the activities of two sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The actions of another Ukrainian DRG were suppressed in the Kuzmino region of the LPR in the Krasnolimansky direction. Also, in the area of ​​Staraya Pokrovka, Kharkiv region, a field camp of a Ukrainian nationalist formation was destroyed, the department noted.

In addition, the ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit near Serebryanka, Vesely and Otradny in the DPR. In the region of Koptevo and Razdolovka of the DPR, the Air Defense Forces of the Russian Federation shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 aircraft and a Mi-8 helicopter. Also over the past day, the Russian military intercepted two Storm Shadow cruise missiles and seven HIMARS MLRS shells.

According to the commander, the head of state thoroughly knows the situation and the situation in the Maryinsky direction and “places very high hopes” on the special forces soldiers. In an interview with Zvezda, Alaudinov declaredthat now under the control of Russia is 70% of the territory of Maryinka.

The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the hostilities, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of the Russian Federation. According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special operation, 432 aircraft, 236 helicopters, almost 4,500 drones, as well as over 9,300 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been destroyed.
