The Russian Ministry of Defense reported another case of shelling of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh. On September 19, an armored personnel carrier was damaged while escorting civilians. There were no injuries during this incident. Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on September 20, Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh died when a car was fired at in the Janyatag area.
“On September 19, while escorting the civilian population, a convoy of Russian peacekeepers came under fire,” the Russian defense ministry said in a statement.
The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that as a result of the shelling, the BTR-82A of the Russian peacekeeping contingent was damaged. At the same time, there were no casualties, either among the peacekeepers or the civilian population.
In total, Russian peacekeepers evacuated 3,154 people, 1,428 of them children, from the Mardakert, Martuni and Askeran regions. All of them were delivered to the peacekeeping contingent.
