The Ministry of Defense reported a strike on Ukrainian Armed Forces
Russian Su-34s attacked command posts and control points for drones, as well as armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Krasnoliman direction. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported this.
“The crews of the Su-34 multifunctional fighter-bombers of the Central Military District hit command and observation posts and control posts of unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as armored combat vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Krasnolimansk direction with strikes of guided aerial bombs,” the message said (cit. according to RIA Novosti).
The department noted that the use of guided aerial bombs makes it possible to destroy enemy fortified structures and equipment from a great height and with high accuracy.
In mid-September, the media, citing sources, reported that the Su-34 equipped long-range cruise missiles, which had not been used on this aircraft before. It was reported that they had already been used during a special operation in Ukraine; a Su-34 used this missile to hit an Ukrainian Armed Forces facility.
The Russian military regularly reports striking enemy positions using Su-34s. In particular, on September 14, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the bomber crew attacked a temporary deployment point of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Borovaya area (Kharkov region).
