The head of the military medical department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Trishkin, spoke on the air of the Rossiya-24 TV channel about what types of injuries the Russian military mainly receive during a special military operation in Ukraine.
“Still 70% for mine-explosive wounds,” Trishkin said.
According to him, bullet gunshot wounds, injuries and diseases also account for 10% each. He called this proportion understandable.
He also noted that compared with the first months of the special operation, the proportion of patients in serious and extremely serious conditions has decreased from 27% to 24%. Dmitry Trishkin assessed the condition of half of the incoming patients as moderate, and the rest as mild.
At the same time, he stated that more than 92% of the deaths of military personnel are associated with first aid not provided on time. Among those who end up in the hospital, less than half a percent die, Trishkin said. He also cited evidence that modern Russian military medicine allows 97% of the wounded to return to duty.
