A missile that fell on the territory of Belarus was shot down by an air defense system (air defense), the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry reports.
“Today, at around 10 o’clock, an air target was hit by the forces of the air defense forces. Its fragments were found in an agricultural field near the village of Gorbakha, Ivanovo district, Brest region,” informed press service of the ministry in the Telegram channel.
The defense ministry also clarified that during the verification activities, it was previously established that the wreckage belonged to the S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile fired from the territory of Ukraine.
Earlier today, the agency “BelTA” reportedthat a Ukrainian rocket fell on the territory of Belarus in the morning between 10:00 and 11:00. As a result of the incident, according to preliminary data, no one was injured. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has already been informed about the incident.
Two reasons for the fall of a rocket on the territory of Belarus are considered. In particular, a missile could have entered the country by accident – by analogy with the incident with the fall of missiles in Poland. According to another version, these could be fragments of a missile shot down as a result of the operation of the air defense system (air defense) of Belarus.
