The Ministry of Defense of Belarus rejected Poland’s accusations of violating airspace

The statements of the Polish side about the violation of the country’s airspace by Belarusian helicopters are far-fetched, declared in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.

“The accusations of violating the border of Poland by the Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces are far-fetched and were made by the Polish military-political leadership to justify the build-up of forces and means near the Belarusian border,” the ministry stressed.

The defense ministry pointed out that in the morning the command of the armed forces of Poland did not record violations, and reports of crossing the state border appeared only in the evening. The Ministry of Defense of Belarus believes that this probably happened after consultations with the “overseas masters.”

There was no violation of the airspace, it is not confirmed, including by control data from Poland, the ministry said. “The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus is considering it in the style of “one grandmother said,” the message says.

On the evening of August 1 at the Ministry of National Defense of Poland declaredthat two Belarusian helicopters violated the country’s airspace during exercises near the village of Belovezha. The defense department added that the crossing of the state border took place at a very low altitude and its detection by radar systems was difficult and added that the systems had not previously recorded violations.

After the incident, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak convened a meeting of the National Security Committee and ordered an increase in the number of soldiers on the border and the allocation of additional forces, including combat helicopters. In addition, Warsaw informed NATO about the incident.
